Programs for Women
Women's Program
The Women’s Intercultural Support and Education (WISE) programming is designed in partnership with our newcomer women, and based on what they have indicated will help them to learn and thrive in their new community.  All programs are based on ESL practice, cultural exchange, and relationship building.  The goal is always to create an environment of inclusion and respect for each woman’s diverse strengths, where they can gain new knowledge while also teaching about what they are already amazing at.

Programming changes throughout the year based on the women’s needs, but here are some of the past program topics:

  • Cooking and Nutrition
  • Sewing / Knitting
  • Swimming
  • Yoga
  • Gardening / Potting
  • Expressive Art
Childcare is also made possible through wonderful community partnerships and volunteer support.  The children are supervised in a fun and educational environment while moms are free to enjoy their afternoons.

Registration is required for all WISE groups. Please note that many of the WISE topics are geared more towards the most recently arrived immigrants and refugees in an effort to help them gain skills and comfort, and so some event registration is restricted to that group.  Please contact us with any questions about registration.
